Cwlwm is a new quality magazine for Cymru, connecting communities across the country.
Our vision is to create spaces where people can come together to share stories and ideas, so that we can all develop a better understanding of our local communities, our nation and its place in the wider world.
We believe that the best way to achieve this vision is for our writers to work closely with the people who live here. Whether you live in a village, a town or a city, on a farm or in a flat, whatever language you speak, whatever your background or identity, if you care about Wales and want to understand it better, Cwlwm is for you.

We think Wales deserves a magazine that is thoroughly grounded in our local communities, and is as well written as the best newspapers and magazines in the world. Our writers have contributed to The New York Times, The Guardian and Vanity Fair, but are also committed to writing for people and communities across Cymru.
Too much media does not care about people. Some publications are set up purely to get you to look at adverts or to click irrelevant links. Other publications cause harm to some of the most vulnerable people in our communities by writing about them in ways that are misleading, or that do not allow people to speak for themselves.
Cwlwm is for people who want to read thoughtful, well-written stories about people and places in every corner of Wales.
Who are we?
Cwlwm has been started by Dylan Moore and Merlin Gable. As well as being good friends, we’ve worked on magazines and writing projects together for many years. Dylan is an ex-teacher and community worker as well as a journalist and writer. Merlin is a writer and trade unionist who has worked with a number of publications.
We started Cwlwm because we think Wales needs spaces that bring all our local stories to a national and international audience. We think of Wales like an anthology – a collection of experiences that together make us who and what we are. Cwlwm will, we hope, collect and curate that anthology, to help us all understand better the things that tie us together, as well as what makes all the parts and people of Wales unique.
