Cwlwm is a new high quality magazine, connecting communities across Cymru.

Croeso! If you’re reading this post, you are one of the very first readers of Cwlwm.

Launching on January 1st, 2024, we will be publishing thoughtful, well-written independent journalism from across the whole of Wales.

Our vision is to create spaces where people can come together to share stories and ideas, so that we can all develop a better understanding of our local communities, our nation and its place in the wider world.

We believe that the best way to achieve this vision is for our writers to work closely with the people who live here. Whether you live in a village, a town or a city, on a farm or in a flat, whatever language you speak, whatever your background or identity, if you care about Wales and want to understand it better, Cwlwm is for you.

Cwlwm is a new kind of magazine — focusing on quality rather than quantity. We’re not trying to cover everything: initially we’ll be delivering handpicked stories from across the country on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Cwlwm will collect and curate personal essays, and explore and uncover less-known places. We will publish analysis of current events beyond the demands of the news cycle, and critically review culture and events across the country. To find out more about Cwlwm, please visit our About page.
